Why is Excel not seperating by point/dot?

Trying to import a .csv via Data and numbers get transformed liek this:

786.7170581054687 gets to 7867170581054690

that makes no sense. please check screenshots for further understanding

Hi,

this is a German speaking forum. Therefore, you will get an answer in English only exceptionally.

From the dialog (as shown in your screenshot) select Daten transformieren. This leads to the PowerQuery Editor
where you should remove the step Geänderter Typ. Then select the column(s) which should be transformed into
decimal numbers and right click the header. Select Typ ändern and then Mit Gebietsschema. In the dialog
select Dezimalzahl as type and Englisch (USA) as region.
